Welcome to Oaks Whisper Farm

First Place Dairy herd in Tulsa Oklahoma

As most of you know by now I have received my Judges License.
I will not be able to attend many shows this year as I am spending
most of my time judging.  This year so far has been fantastic.
We are still on milk test which is the most important part of the
dairy goat so look for our outstanding records to be posted.

We have achieved so much in so little time.  We work very hard
to sell the very best.  We go to shows that not only have a few
lamanchas but shows that will have 40 or 50 in a class.  We
are proud of our girls have taken them far and near and done
very very well.  We have stood 1st in classes of 50 and went
on to win Grand and BDIS.
We went to the Nationals last year and did very well.
We placed with almost every goat taken to the Nationals.
We also had a doe in the auction that sold for $1000.  We are
very proud of her too.

We support the local shows that have a few lamanchas but
are so proud of our herd we love to go to the shows with
950 to 1200 goats in attendance.  We have taken the BDIS
at those shows too.  We have several girls out in several
herds local and far.  So far this year there has been
2 Grands and 2 BIS does in other herds.  Several have signed
up for LA and their scores have been fantastic, 88 to 90.
Thank you to everyone that has an Oaks Whisper doe or buck.
You guys are doing a fantastic job. Be sure to keep me updated.

We are located in Southwest Missouri on 68 acres.  Lamanchas are our only breed of dairy goat.
Our herd is on DHIR, Linear Appraisal, and shown on a regular basis.  All our kids are raised on a
 CAE preventative program.

We started with Lamanchas and Nubians.  We found the personality and the overall good-nature of the
Lamancha to be more to our liking.  We sold the Nubians and increased our Lamancha herd.  Some of
the lines used to create our herd are Lucky*Star, Krishellen, Majyk-Hills, SouthFork, and Shamrock.
We are now using more AI on some of our does.  These lines will include Redwood-Hills, Quixote,
Me's Ranch, Winterwood, One*Oak*Hill, WindySprings, Devonshire, Altrece and Willow Run.

We have goats that milk and show.  We have shown over the last couple years
you can milk out the night before a show and still fill the udder if you have the right milking
lines and take good care of your herd.  We are not afraid to sell a goat locally or far
that we may very well stand behind in the line up.  And we do.  I have stood behind
in line of several goats we have sold.  Those goats have gone on and finished.
We will not sell an inferior animal to someone because we are afraid to get beat
in the ring.  I like to get beat by my own animals.   We put the buyer first not only
because it is right but because we want you you to stay in goats and go on to have
a herd to be admired and proud.
If you are looking for that next herdsire, or next doe not only look here but look
to Krishellen or Lucky*Star.  They will get you the animals you need to make
your mark in the dairy world.
We are striving to breed quality lamanchas, with long bone pattern and short pasterns.
Wide, without making the shoulders too loose.  Breeding for longevity and milk.  Dairy and quality
are first and foremost.  Working the lamancha from the ground up and from the mammary to the front.
These are dairy animals.  We are breeding animals that milk and show.  And for level lactations that are
strong producers from beginning to the end of their lactation.  A very important attribute for the dairy
industry.  The soundness and correct structure for a lasting dairy animal with sound feet and legs,
and with a well attached mammary system are very important to us. As is a gentle good-natured
goat willing to please.

Our herd is on DHIA testing, Linear Appraisal, and shown on a regular basis.  All our kids are raised
on a CAE preventive program.  We offer a limited number of kids for sale each year.  The prices range
from $250 to $1500.  No bucks are available from first fresheners.  We require a $100 deposit to order
a kid.  We fill orders on a first ordered basis.  Deposits are returned only if we are unable to fill the order.
Full payment is due within 10 days of notice of availability.  The buyer is responsible for all shipping fees.
The kids are shipped out or picked up at 4 weeks of age.  The simple health certificate and registration
papers are paid for by Oaks Whisper Farm.

We test annually for CAE.  We follow a strict CAE preventive program.  All births are assisted and kids
removed immediately.  The kids are fed heat treated goat colostrum for the first 48 hours.  Then fed
pasturized goat milk with Deccox M added to prevent cocciddia.  The kids are disbudded between the
ages of 4 and 10 days.  They are vaccinated at birth, 2 weeks, and 4 weeks of age.  Free choice 16%
medicated grain, baking soda, mineral, alfalfa hay, and water are always provided to the kids.
